A safer digital environment is everyone's responsibility—and we are doing our part by addressing potential threats that disrupt brand reputation and endanger job seekers.
Fraudulent emails: what are they and why are they dangerous?
We recently learned of job offers being emailed from multiple non-Trinetix email domains allegedly sent by “Trinetix top management”. These employment scams were exploiting the Trinetix brand name and impersonating Trinetix representatives by following this pattern:
- Candidates looking for a job receive an email from a “Trinetix recruiter” who invites them to an interview.
- The “recruiter” sends an official invitation to a Zoom interview. Throughout the interview, the "recruiter's" camera remains turned off.
- Shortly after the interview, candidates receive a job offer from the "recruiter."
Afterward, the scammers gain an opportunity for identity theft or extortion, subtly pressuring candidates to submit their private information, give their Social Security number, or pay an "equipment fee."
This is an incredibly harmful and malicious practice. However, due to its anonymous nature, the best way to prevent such fraudulent activity is to maintain vigilance and preserve digital hygiene.
Trinetix safety guidelines: stand your ground against scammers
At Trinetix, we prioritize honesty and integrity in every interaction. Whether you are our client, partner, or tech talent looking for employment opportunities, your safety matters.
To prevent scammers from taking advantage of you, we prepared a set of important safety tips on identifying employment scams.
- Confirm the email domain is legitimate before interacting. At Trinetix, our email addresses end in @trinetix.com. Scammers will impersonate brands by using a similar domain such as @trinetix.org, a slight misspelling, or other variation, so always double-check the email address before responding.
- Don’t respond to “Trinetix recruiters” in messengers. Trinetix hiring teams don't use messengers for job interview invitations, following the commonly accepted email etiquette.
- Don’t proceed with the interview if the recruiter’s camera is turned off. Our approach is based on face-to-face interactions and genuine human communication. All Trinetix recruiters and executives conduct interviews with their cameras on, ensuring transparent and trust-based communications.
- Don’t submit any personal information. Our recruiters never request any personal information or documents before extending a cooperation offer, except for a CV and a personal email. After accepting the offer, newcomers are required to provide personal documents for verification and preparation of cooperation documents with Trinetix.
- Don’t pay any fees. Trinetix recruiters never charge "interview fees" or "equipment fees" before, during, or after the interview. If you are urged to pay to interact with a recruiter or wrap up your hiring process, this is a clear sign you are dealing with scammers.
- Don’t give in to the sense of urgency. Scammers prefer to pressure candidates into interacting with them by putting them on a timer. If you see such red flags as "this offer is valid within the next 24 hours", discard the email. Real Trinetix recruiters will always ask you about the most convenient interview time and offer available time slots.
Stay ahead of threats: report, inform, and communicate
While scammers are relentless in finding new ways to exploit companies and individuals, communication and awareness remain the most reliable methods of nipping their attempts in the bud.
